In Chicago, an Indian student from Hyderabad was robbed and attacked
HYDERABAD: An Indian student from Hyderabad who was studying in the US for a longer period of time was allegedly robbed and beaten in Chicago.
At Indiana Wesleyan University, Syed Mazahir Ali, a resident of Hashimnagar, Langar Houz, Mehdipatnam, is pursuing a master’s degree in information technology.
Syeda Ruquiya Fatima Razvi, the husband’s acquaintance, reportedly called Ali’s wife Syeda Ruquiya Razvi, a Hyderabad resident, at around six o’clock on February 4 to let her know that Mazahair Ai had been robbed and attacked on Campbell Avenue, Chicago, close to his residence. He was brought into a nearby hospital.
Fatiima Razvi wrote a letter to Union External Affairs Minister Subramanian Jaishankar on Tuesday stating that she was unable to speak to her husband and noticed that he was bleeding on his face when she first contacted him. She begged the clergyman to assist in providing medical care for her spouse. In order to get in touch with her husband and his friend, she also gave their phone numbers.
Around 6:00 PM on February 4, I received a call from a friend of my husband’s who said he had been robbed and severely attacked on Campbell Avenue in Chicago when he was walking near his apartment. He was subsequently transferred to a hospital. I am very concerned about my husband’s safety and security in Chicago,” Fatima wrote in a letter to Jaishankar. “After some time, I got in touch with him, but he was in a shock and unable to talk to me and his entire face was bleeding.”
“I request you to kindly help him in getting best medical treatment and if possible kindly make necessary arrangements so that I can travel to USA along with my three minor Childerens to be with my husband,” she added.
